Withdrawing Doesn’t Numb the Pain
When life gets hard and pain bites a chunk out of our hearts, we tend to withdraw and isolate ourselves from others. We think no one wants to hear about our heartache, and we’re convinced the only way to move forward is to hide or bury the pain. I’ve heard that lie before too, and even believed it. And then I felt so lost and alone and in even more pain. Withdrawing doesn’t numb the pain, it only makes it permanent.
“The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.'” (Genesis 2:18)
