Protection or Prolonged Pain
It’s human nature to crave comfort over chaos. The moment pain appears you run from it, seeking balanced calm. But what if comfort means stagnation? What if you’re meant to sit in the discomfort because it can be a better teacher than pleasure? Avoiding pain now can mean double the amount in days to come. Just ask any toddler who’s indulged and pampered, then starts school and realizes the world doesn’t revolve around him. What feels like protection now can mean prolonged pain in the future.
“Wait, Israel, for God. Wait with hope. Hope now; hope always!” (Psalm 131:3 MSG)
