Lies Take the Wind Out of Our Sails
As I change, the lies can shape-shift, continuing to repress me and flatten me. The lies take the wind out of my sails. They hinder my soaring. They shackle my courage. It’s one thing to know God and know His attributes. And it’s another thing to know how completely contrary my heart is to God’s goodness. But when I take His holiness and allow it to cover my wretchedness? When I stop turning away from Him in shame and run full-fledged to Him in gratitude and freedom? Oh! It’s liberating and life-changing and tremendously earth-shaking.
“The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10 NLT)
