Fill Your Needs with His Presence
If I asked you to be honest, you’d admit when the darkness rolls in and you’re alone with your thoughts, you question God. You ask why He hasn’t changed the hurts or solved the problems or taken away the burdens. That’s what Love does, right? When you love someone who’s hurting, you want to keep him or her from pain. It’s logical to think God would love similarly, the way you do. Except you’re still in pain. Does this mean He doesn’t care? Why hasn’t He made it better? Is the problem YOU?! (You do know it’s okay to ask these questions, don’t you?) You NEED solitude. You NEED rest. But mostly, you have a desperate need to simply hear God somehow, some way, in the constant noise of your crazy life. Come, fill those needs with His presence. Ask your questions, even in the light of day. You. Are. Not. Alone.
“When you pray, go into your room. Close the door and pray to your Father, who can’t be seen. He will reward you. Your Father sees what is done secretly.” (Matthew 6:6 NIRV)
